In 2009, thanks to generous donations of money, food and toys, the Christmas Committee provided needy families with 1,032 turkeys, 768 chickens, 1,880 bags of potatoes, 1,880 loaves of bread, tons of canned and boxed food, and thousands of toys and books. At the end of the effort 1,670 families with 3,781 children were helped to have a happy Christmas holiday.
