Application Process
Families and individuals in need who live in the cities of Anoka County are eligible for our help. These families are sought by the Christmas Committee in the fall of the year. Clients who receive similar Christmastime help from another organization or agency such as The Salvation Army, Adopt-A-Family, etc. are not eligible for Christmas Committee service.http://www.co.anoka.mn.us/v1_departments/div-human-services/dept-income-maintenance/index.aspshapeimage_4_link_0
Each November, Christmas Committee sends applications to those who receive public assistance in Anoka County, Minnesota. Anoka County residents who need help and didn’t get an application in the mail can pick one up at their local food shelf, WIC and NAP sites, Anoka County Income Maintenance, and at many agencies located at the Anoka County Human Service Center in Blaine. Applications are due December 1st and are screened to prevent duplicated service. When applications are approved Christmas Committee sends out appointment postcards so applicants can come to the Anoka National Guard Armory to choose toys, stocking stuffers, books, and gloves or mittens for their children. They also receive food for their holiday meal.

Needy families in other communities are encouraged to contact their county or city services staff since they are not served by our Christmas Committee. Champlin, Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Dayton, and Maple Grove are nearby cities of Hennepin County.
