Who We Are
Each year hundreds of community volunteers work together to ensure that all children in Anoka County, Minnesota will have gifts under their Christmas tree, and that all Anoka County residents can have food on their tables for the holidays. The group started in 1981 and now each year provides brighter holidays for over 1,500 Anoka County households with nearly 4,600 children. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Families and individuals in need living in Anoka County are eligible for our help and are sought by the Christmas Committee in the fall of the year. Thanks
Our Committee and the clients we serve owe a million thanks to the many volunteers, the service organizations including the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs, Anoka Women of Today, the North Metro Realtors Association and the local merchants who support the Toys for Joy drive and the local food merchants who have been of valuable assistance in providing perishable food at a reasonable cost. These have been Bob’s Super Value in Ramsey, Festival Foods and Sara Lee in Andover, and Ed Fields and Sons in Andover.
Bringing joy to a corner of the world!

Christmas Committee, Inc. Distribution
The sole purpose and activity of this organization is the annual Christmas distribution. Just before Christmas this takes place at the Anoka Armory on Main Street in downtown Anoka, Minnesota. Office and distribution space there is generously donated by the National Guard.

Hundreds of volunteers sort the food and toys and prepare for distribution to needy families. These families arrive and are assisted by volunteer “Santas” as they choose toys appropriate for the children in their families. They also receive ample food for the Holiday period, including canned and boxed food, frozen poultry, fresh bread and potatoes.
