Volunteer to Help During Dec. 13, 14, 15 and Dec. 18, 19 & 20, 2023
Without volunteers, this project could not exist. We have no paid staff. All work is done by volunteers – 100%. Be part of this exciting rewarding program. If you can give a few hours, or even a day or two, please sign up as a volunteer.
Our specific volunteer needs are uncertain at this time, but we know we will need help. Here is what we know so far:
- We will be using the Anoka Armory this year. Volunteers are needed for setup, distribution and cleanup.
- Clients will be allowed to enter the armory. Volunteers will assist clients receiving food and selecting toys for their families.
- We will only have purchased food that will be on pallets so very little sorting is needed.
- We also hope to have pre-sorted food collected by school food drives.
- Food will be quickly bagged or boxed so each contains most of the same items ready to hand out to families.
- Toys will need to be picked up from community locations where there are donation drop-boxes.
- Toys will need sorting into categories – age, gender, type.
- Books will also need sorting into categories. Help will be needed to select books that match each family’s children.
- Volunteers will assist clients in the selection of toys for their individual families.
- Volunteers will assist with moving food and toys to clients cars.

Due to the limited room in the Anoka Armory we may have fewer slots for volunteers than in the past. We appreciate all offers of assistance and look forward to seeing you at our event this year.
